Medici Code ridden by Martin Pedroza beat the early pacesetter Augment by three-quarters of a length in the $400,000 Del Mar Derby.
He earned $240,000 for the victory, his fifth in 10 career starts, for a lifetime total of $361,689. This latest victory for the the 3-year-old British-bred gelding came three weeks after winning the La Jolla Handicap.
Medici Code is out of Five O Five who is 17 years old and has been at Rosyground Stud since she was a yearling (1991) and was trained by Neville Callaghan. We have 3 daughters of Five o Five who are Sweet Angleline, Lilli Marlane and Silver Sail and one grandaughter who is Rosy Alexander. Rosy Alexander won well at Yarmouth last month also trained by Neville Callaghan.

Medici Code Wins Grade 2 La Jolla Handicap
Medici Code under jockey Martin Pedroza won the Grade 2 La Jolla Handicap for 3-year-olds at Del Mar by 1 1/4 lengths.
Medici Code has won 4 of 9 starts and $121,689. The La Jolla was his first win in the United States.
